The Gold winners received a Trophy, £100 IDS voucher and a year’s subscription to Dancing Times plus photographs and a video of the ceremony for use in further promotion of their school.

The category winner received a Trophy, £500 IDS voucher and a year’s subscription to Dancing Times.

The Overall Winner received a Trophy, £1,000 voucher from IDS, a year's subscription to Dancing Times, a place at the International Dance Teacher Conference 2015 plus, this year they will receive a voucher for £400 to spend with a recognised dance association of their choice to be used for their own CPD (Continuing Professional Development) training.

 Meet our Judges!

Jonathan Gray

 

Jonathan Gray is editor of Dancing Times. Born in Wales, he studied at The Royal Ballet School, Leicester Polytechnic, and Wimbledon School of Art where he graduated with a BA Hons in Theatre Design. For 16 years he was a member of the curatorial department of the Theatre Museum, London, assisting on a number of dance-related exhibitions, and helping with the recreation of original designs for a number of The Royal Ballet’s productions including Danses concertantes, Daphnis and Chloë, and The Sleeping Beauty. Jonathan has also contributed to the Financial Times and is co-author of the book Unleashing Britain: Theatre gets real 1955-64, published in 2005. He is a trustee of the Dance Teachers’ Benevolent Fund and Voices of British Ballet.

Kathryn Wade

 

 

 

 

Kathryn Wade trained at The Royal Ballet Lower and Upper School. She won the Adeline Genée Gold Medal and graduated into The Royal Ballet from Dame Ninette de Valois’ class and was promoted to Soloist, dancing many principal roles with the company. She later joined London Festival Ballet, returning to The Royal Ballet at Sir Kenneth MacMillan and Sir Peter Wright’s invitation. On retiring as a performer with The Royal Ballet she was encouraged to teach at The Royal Ballet Upper School by MacMillan, eventually becoming Assistant Director to Dame Merle Park. She was invited to become the first Director of English National Ballet School in 1992, a post she held for twelve years. She subsequently returned to The Royal Ballet School as Principal of the Outreach Programme until 2010. Kathryn now freelances as an international guest teacher and adjudicator. In addition to being a board member of various dance related charities including the Dance Teachers’ Benevolent Fund, the Dancers’ Career Development Fund, Voices of British Ballet and the Dame Margot Fonteyn Scholarship Fund, she is a Trustee of the Royal Academy of Dance where she is also a member of the Artistic and Examinations Committee and Chairman of the Benesh Sub-committee.
